Mongolia is an otherworldly destination that any avid hunter must experience at least once in their lives. Along the western border of the country lay the legendary Altai mountains, bordering Siberia, Kazakhstan and China. Altai (or Siberian) Ibex, are on of the world most sought-after Ibex species, and regarded as the worlds heaviest horned Ibex. They are a large species that develop gorgeous black capes with white highlights as they approach the breeding season.

Seasons span from mid-July to mid-October, and are conducted by horse or vehicle access, followed by short backpack style hikes to suit hunters of most physical conditions. Typical trophy Altai Ibex billies measure 43-45+ inches, and bigger is always possible. As the season progresses, and snow begins to fall, the Ibex descend lower on the mountains. Typical elevations range from 8,000 - 10,000 feet ASL. Each Hunter is accompanied by 2 or more guides, and hunts are pre-scouted and highly professional, regarded by many as Asia’s premier Ibex hunt!

With an impressive line up of other unique and prestigious species, Mongolia has much to offer the travelling hunter. In addition to Altai Ibex, there are also Gobi Ibex, Altai, Gobi and Hungai Argali, Marla stag, White Tailed Gazelle, Mongolian Wolf, Siberian Roe deer, occasional Capercaillie and renowned Taimen fishing options! Often relocations are necessary, but season all overlap making combination hunts possible for anyone interested.

In addition to the hunting, Mongolia is rich in both history and culture, and spending at least a day in the ancient capital city of Ulaanbaatar is certainly encouraged. Non-hunting observers are welcome to share this incredible experience with.
