This package offers what might be the largest huntable resident Elk herd on private ranch lands in Alberta, and home to both the 2019 and 2021 top Pope & Young Elk entries in all of Canada.  Hundreds of Elk live year-round within several miles of the lodge, and it’s not common to see 150+ elk during a single day of hunting upon locating the herds. Couple this with spectacular world-class mountain scenery, set on 40,000-60,000 continuous private ranch-land acres. This is a premier trophy Elk hunting experience, limited to 7-9 hunters annually.

The September archery-only season coincides with the peak rut or bugle, and usually finds several resident herds scattered throughout the private hunting areas. Typically, each of these herds has a dominant bull in the 320 – 360 class range with a harem of 10 to 60 cows and several satellite bulls, resulting in 90%+ meaningful shot opportunity rates. With a strong repeat clientele, many insist this localized area produces some of the highest success trophy archery elk hunts in Canada.

In additional to quick and simple logistics, this is one of Canada’s most beautiful areas, in conjunction with what might be one of the nation’s best private land elk hunts. Comfortable ranch-house lodgings with hearty, home-cooked meals, phone service, Wi-Fi, experienced 1x1 guides, and perhaps even opportunities to combine with Mule Deer or Whitetail, all help make this package special. Not to mention the many National Parks and attractions all within proximity of Calgary and the hunting area.

Whether you are calling and interacting with love-struck bulls, or hunkered down in a blind or stand as a hundred or more elk walk within shooting range between feeding and bedding areas, passionately pursue these majestic animals with your guide. Having a huge, thousand-pound bull scream furiously, snorting steam in the crisp morning air as he accepts the challenge and begins closing the distance… is an experience that remains with hunters all their lives, and ranks for many as a life-long hunting highlight.
