Hunting Methods

Our Roe Deer hunts in Poland come standard at 5 days (x10 outings) with a total of x5 morning and x5 evening ventures. Greet your guide each morning and afternoon at the lodge. The early season for Roe Deer hunting in Poland is largely spot & stalk, covering ground looking for bucks early and late in the day. With small core ranges, big pre-scouted Roe bucks can also be hunted from high seats in strategic areas. During the rut, spot and stalk, and calling tactics are very effective. Rutting activity also extends hunting hours into the midday.

Firearms & Archery

We generally encourage clients not to bring personal firearms from home, especially if wishing to do any tourism while in Europe before or after the hunt. Each Roe Deer hunting guide in Poland always has a quality rifle available for clients to borrow, with ammunition at $250 for the duration of the hunt. Rifles are usually bolt or slide action, with popular calibers being .243, 6.5mm, or .308. Nearly all international clients prefer to rent rifles rather than bring them.

Archery Roe Deer hunting in Poland is not legal.

Landscape

Rural Poland offers very huntable and game-rich terrain. The landscape is generally flat with some wooded hills and highly fertile, rolling farm country. Cereal crops, vegetables, canola, corn, and pasturelands are prevalent. This region is dotted with woodlots, fruit orchards, pine plantations, and larger tracts of mixed forests made up of species like Birch, Oak, Poplar, and Pine. Many of the best areas for trophy Roe Deer hunting in Poland occur where the right combination of rich agriculture and thick-covered wooded areas meet.

Climate

Roe Deer season is often warm and sunny. The early season in May offers lovely classic spring conditions. The rut occurs in late summer, and the weather is generally warmer than during the earlier spring hunts. Temperatures ranging from 60F/15C – 80F/25C would be typical during a Roe Deer hunt in Poland. Rain and mosquitoes can be present, but are not prevalent. Overall, the weather is generally nice and pleasant during these hunts!

Lodgings

Poland offers a rich culture and historical charm. A variety of lodging options can be arranged for our Roe Deer hunters, most with their own unique story or post-war restorations. Palaces, old luxurious manor homes, renovated heritage hotels in small villages, or rural cottages are all options. You can expect private rooms, complete bathrooms, moats, gardens, courtyards, dining halls, and gracious common areas.

Meals

Meals while Roe Deer hunting in Poland are often catered or served in an adjoining restaurant, already included with every package. Enjoy 3 hearty meals daily featuring an array of locally sourced Polish favorites. These include soups, sausages, sauerkraut, salads, assortments of cold cuts and cheeses, smoked fish, schnitzel, chops, and roasts, followed by delicious desserts. In classic Eastern European hospitality, no one ever goes hungry!
